Our Commitment

Batticaloa District Civil Society (BDCS) is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people of all abilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards to bdcs.lk.

Conformance Status

We aim for bdcs.lk to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities and more usable for everyone in general.

Measures We Take

  • Semantic HTML structure with clear headings and landmarks
  • Descriptive alt text for meaningful images
  • Keyboard-navigable menus, modals, and interactive components
  • Sufficient color contrast between text and background
  • Visible focus states on interactive elements
  • Respect for reduced-motion preferences where animation is used

Known Limitations

Despite our best efforts, some parts of the Website may not yet be fully accessible. We are actively working to identify and fix these issues. If you encounter a barrier, please let us know so we can address it.
